These 5 DC Characters Are from Other Comics

DC Comics is home to some of the most iconic superheroes. There are many great characters from this comic, such as Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. DC Comics also provides an opportunity for its characters to appear in live action versions. Of course this was done to make the character's popularity even more massive. But it turns out geeks, there are some characters that are not created by DC comics, even though they often appear in DC Comics. What characters were not created by DC Comics? Check out the following.

The Grifters

The 90s saw the birth of various iconic anti-heroes. One example is Cole Cash, better known as The Grifter. Maybe geeks are quite unfamiliar with The Grifter, but he is a former United States Special Forces soldier, who became part of the Black Ops team known as Team 7. Even though he often appears in DC Comics, The Grifter was not actually made by them. Grifter originally came from the Wildstrom comics owned by Jim Lee. But in 1999, Jim Lee sold Wildstorm to DC Comics, so DC Comics owned all of Wildstron's characters.

Captain Atom

Captain Atom is a character originally owned by Charlton Comics, where his real identity is Allen Adam, a technician working on experimental nuclear rockets. It was because of the nuclear power that Allen Adam had quantum powers. But when he migrated to DC, they changed him to Nathaniel Adam, a well-respected Air Force Captain in the United States. Yet he must be tried for a crime he did not commit. Adam was then faced with two choices, to be executed or to become an experimental material. And after choosing to be the experimental material, he also got extraordinary powers and became a superhero.

Peacemaker

Just like Captain Atom, Peacemaker is a character originally from Charlton Comics. He has lived since the second world war, and loves peace so much, that he is willing to achieve peace by any means, including dirty and devious means. Even Peacemaker's superiors in the military thought that Peacemaker was terrible because he often went too far. Like most characters from Charlton Comics, Peacemaker was transformed by Alan Moore when he joined DC Comics. Throughout his life, the Peacemaker has killed many people for the sake of peace, and he considers everyone he kills gathered inside his helmet.

Blue Beetles

Soon, we will see DC's newest film, Blue Beetle. Originally he came from Mystery Men Comics and was published by Fox Feature Syndicat. There have been many different versions of the Blue Beetle, but Ted Kord isn't the first iteration. The first iteration to become the Blue Beetle was Dan Garrett. He is a cop who gets super powers after taking a strange vitamin. But after the rights to his character were bought by Charlton Comics (which ultimately owned DC Comics), they finally changed Blue Beetle by giving him the scarab armor we know today. In DC Comics, it was Ted Kord who got the chance to become the Blue Beetle.

Shazam

Real name William Joseph Billy Batson, Shazam was first owned by Fawcett Comics. Originally Shazam had the real name Captain Marvel, and Shazam was just a spell he cast. But in 1941, DC Comics recalled Fawcett for assuming that Shazam copied the character of Superman. And in the end, the copyright for Shazam's character was purchased by DC Comics in 1953. Even though it has the name Captain Marvel, it must be noted that Shazam and Captain Marvel in Marvel comics have no relationship. And now we can also see the appearance of the live action Shazam, who appears in the film Shazam! Fury of the Gods some time ago.
