 The Avatar film became a phenomenal film after it was released in theaters on December 18 in 2009. The film was able to achieve a fantastic estimated global gross that broke the US $ 30.5 million. Reporting from the IMDb page, the film, which has an estimated production cost of US$237 million, received a rating of 7.8 out of 10 with 1.2 million IMDb account holders.

This time, the second sequel to the Avatar film is planned to be shown in theaters in December 2022. 1. Released after 13 years of the first Avatar movie

The sequel to Avatar: The Way of Water was released over a long period of time, namely 13 years. The Avatar film that appeared in 2009, while the sequel Avatar was supposed to be released on December 17, 2021, but was postponed due to the pandemic.

James Cameron directed, produced, and wrote all four of the sequels. The release dates for Avatar 3, Avatar 4, and Avatar 5 are December 20, 2024, December 18, 2026, and December 22, 2028, respectively.


2. Lasts more than 3 hours

Director James Cameron once said he did not want to hear complaints about the duration of his latest film, Avatar 2: The Way of Water when it hits theaters. The Avatar sequels will be over three hours long.

"I don't want anyone complaining about the duration of (the film) when they can sit and binge-watch eight hours (television series)," James Cameron said as reported by Empire magazine, quoted by CNN Indonesia, Thursday (3/11/2022).

It is known that Avatar 2: The Way of Water will last 3 hours 10 minutes or 29 minutes longer than the first film which lasted 2 hours 41 minutes.


3. Filming under water

As the title suggests, Avatar: The Way of Water will be shot underwater. Director James Cameron revealed at CinemaCon that he "worked hard to put the finishing touches on the film."

He previously spoke about how the decision to set a large part of the film underwater was one of several factors why the film took so long in the making.

 "It sounds a little crazy, the process," Cameron admitted to EW of the planned sequel. "I mean, if Avatar didn't make so much money, we would never be doing this, because it's kind of crazy,"


4. The appearance of Jake and Nyetiri's child

In the first series, Jake Sully is told to defect from his group and have a love affair with a resident of Pandora named Neytiri. Jake and Neytiri then live together on Pandora. In the Avatar 2 trailer, a human figure appears wearing a mask. Who is the son of Jake and Nyetiri.

One of the scenes in the trailer shows Jake listening to Kiri's (Sigourney Weaver) story in the midst of the beauty of their home.


5. Tells about the war against the RDA on Pandora
